The English Garden

Around 1830, the so-called “English Garden” was created between Wetzdorf Castle and the Heldenberg. Over the time the garden became overgrown and wild but has since been saved from ruin and restored with great detail.

In 2005, the English Garden was presented to the public for the first time. The English Garden’s winding paths invite you to take a leisurely stroll. In the peaceful atmosphere, you will find the grotto fountain and pool, the scenic mountain – called “Parnass”, Adlersruh, and Schneckenberg with the Biedermeier tea house located below. The garden skillfully combines the elements of earth, fire, air, and water.

The English Garden is ecologically maintained and is a show garden of a nature-friendly gardening.

Getting around within the excursion destination

From the handicapped Parking at the main cash desk, you can reach the cashier area via a ramp, where you can access the Classic Car Museum on the same level without any barriers.

The Cafe Heldenberg and the English Garden are accessible from this level via an elevator. The paths in the English Garden are nature trails and easily accessible except for the Schneckenberg.

The path to the Lipizzaner stables is difficult for people with limited mobility and wheelchairs. For this reason, we ask you to inform our staff. You can drive directly to the stables after consultation and our staff will pick you up there and accompany you to the meeting point for the tours.

The Radetzky Memorial is accessible except for the crypt. For the park, there is a barrier-free entrance. Please contact our staff. Access to the Neolithic village and Aigner’s Falkenhof consists exclusively of nature paths, which could present an obstacle for a visit. Visiting these two attractions is possible only with assistance, as the way leads up over a rising terrain.
